HOT WATER GENERATION SYSTEM

On February 10, 1981, Hydro-Temp Corporation received patent # 4,249,390 for a full condensing on demand hot water recovery unit. This patent was awarded because of the unit's ability to transfer 100% of a buildings unwanted heat (during the cooling cycle) into the buildings hot water tanks. During the past 30 years we learned in many cases we could produce 100% of a buildings hot water at no cost during the summer and at a very low cost in the winter. In order for this to occur it is important that our priority water heating system be installed on a unit that does a lot of cooling, during both summer and winter. Normally a unit that provides heating and cooling for a kitchen or an internal area of the building will work best. If hot water heating is needed when no cooling is being done that’s also okay. Our patented priority hot water recovery/generation system will turn itself on in the water-heating mode and produce hot water at approximately one quarter of the normal cost of heating water.

Next to heating and cooling, water heating is the most expensive utility cost you will have for your home. With this option approximately 6000-9000 BTU's of free hot water is produced whenever the unit runs in the cooling mode. While in the heating mode it produces a portion of the hot water at 1/4 the cost of a traditional hot water tank.

U.S. Patent # 4,249,390 provides you the ultimate in efficiency. Whenever you are cooling the rejected heat will go to your hot water storage vessel first once it is satisfied the remainder of the heat will be rejected to the ground loop. In the spring, fall, and winter the unit will provide all the hot water needs even when there is no space-heating load. In this mode the unit is basically a water-to-air and a water-to-water unit all in one package. With R410a refrigerant the unit can heat water very efficiently up to 120 F.

This Exclusive Hydro-Temp technology is the only equipment available in the industry that is capable of providing SIMULTANEOUS Heating, Cooling, year round Domestic Hot Water Heating, as well as year round Auxiliary Hot Water Heating for Radiant Floors or Walls. On top of being the only true quad function geothermal heat pump in the industry, this system is also available with our VStar Series Variable Capacity Technology that offers state-of-the-art built-in load shifting and zoning technology.
